The premier of the new Peter Carroll video, "Opendore, the story of the Howland Family, a Movement, and preserving a historic legacy" will be at 6:00 PM. This excellent 15-minute video showcases the evolution of Opendore from Isabel Howland's home to derelict building to the restored Howland Stone Store Museum facility.
At 6:30 PM, the Preservation Association of Central New York (PACNY) will host a presentation by local cobblestone mason Paul Briggs. Paul will speak on cobblestone construction techniques, restoration of cobblestone structures, and many existing local cobblestone structures. (This is a reprise of Paul's popular program presented at Opendore earlier this year.)
Opendore will open for visitors at 5:30 PM.
All portions of the event are free and open to the public.
